Great stuff! It has been over thirty five years since I last saw the programme,but like a lot of the wonderful television shows from that period it left an impression, especially the heartbraking opening shot to the episode.
I have the full title music on vinyl, but it is nice to hear it again. The late 60s/early 70s had some great theme music to the classic tv shows, and along with “Randall And Hopkirk”,” Callan” and “Public Eye”, this was amongst the best.

Thank you for your comments, and I do apologise for the delay in getting back to you.

The only Acer netbook I own is the earlier 8.9 inch model running Windows XP Home, so that’s the only one I have any experience of. But I’m always curious about new Acer netbook technology, so I thought it would be helpful to everyone to embed Randy’s reviews.

So, as for your questions about the Vista Experience Index, and the 11.6 inch screen and battery life – best to follow the link above to Randy’s youtube page, and I’m sure he’ll be good enough to advise you.

As for my own 8.9 inch screen – to be honest, it’s practical only for short doses. I think netbooks are a great tool, but really only suitable for people on the road who want something smaller than a laptop to sling into a bag, and check their emails and do a bit of web surfing from a hotel room or an internet cafe or whereever.

You can live with a small screen in short bursts like that – but there’s no way I would want to spend hours and hours on this thing doing serious work. The screen is too small and cramped.

Now I know Randy’s model is the 11.6 inch screen size, so only he will know for sure, but I don’t know if that extra 2.7 inches of screen estate will make all that difference. Got to be more comfortable than my 8.9 inch model, yes – but maybe still only suitable for short bursts….? I don’t know.

As for battery life, I think the new model comes with a 6-cell battery – I’m guessing that will work out about 2.5 – 3 hours on Linux, but I stress this is just a guess and I have no proof of that at all.

I apologise again for the delay in getting back to you, and I’m sorry I could not be of more help with your questions. I’m sure Randy will be able to shed more light on the matter, and do let me know what you eventually decide on buying!

Thanks for your comment. In my opinion, a netbook is really aimed at people like businessmen on the move who want to access email and look up data on websites – it’s not really a multimedia device. A netbook won’t be able to cope with demanding games, and things like youtube videos can be a little choppy on playback. Remember too you’d need to hook up an external DVD drive to load games and watch DVD movies. Sorry my reply might come across as a little negative, but as I say, I feel a netbook isn’t designed for that kind of multimedia use.

I’m thinking of getting a AO751h but my knowledge of netbooks is somewhat lacking. I’ve been trying to get up to speed. How would the AO751h be for gaming on the web and watching movies/video clips? I’ve read that the netbooks in general are not good for gaming.
